History Of Biscayne National Park
Biscayne National Park Was Established on June 28, 1980 it is 172,924 acres big. The bay has the longest stretch of mangrove forest on Florida's east coast, the northern part of Key Largo. Elliot Key is the largest island in Biscayne Bay which was once a thriving island of pioneers engaged in sponging, wrecking, pineapple farming, and fishing. Today Elliot Key offers swimming, camping, picnicking, Tropical bird watching and hiking trails.
